5 Runescape Items Every Avid Adventurer Needs

Over my numerous years of playing this game, I have used an abundance of Runescape items. Out of all of these, the items below are those that I have found to be my most used and most useful equipment. This article will tell you what they are, how you get them, and why they are helpful.

Steel Key Ring… the bank organizer: Obtained after completing One Small Favour. I’ve found this item useful for a couple of reasons. First of all, it opens up quite a few slots in your bank, because it stores all of your important keys in one convenient slot. Secondly, you no longer have to go through the hassel of finding the correct key for a particular dungeon, becuase the ring labels the keys for you, which comes in handy since most of the keys look identical.

Ectophial… the gift that keeps on giving: Completeing Ghosts Ahoy will snag you the handy dandy Ectophial. This is useful because with one click of your mouse, you can be teleported back to the Ectofunctus from which you recieved the item in the first place. This is great to have with you in case of emergencies when fighting tougher monsters, as it can get out of harm’s way when you’re in a tight spot. Best of all, you automatically refill your Ectophial everytime you use it, making it better than teleport tablets in most cases.

Black Mask… a warriors best friend: While there’s no quest required to use the Black Mask (though you must have at least 10 defence, 20 strength, and 40 combat), it does come with a hefty price tag (currently sells at upwards of 900k). However, if you are serious about raising your melee stats and your slayer level, I would highly recommend you purchase the mask. When worn, your attack and strength will be increased by 15% while fighting your slayer-assigned monster. This adds up experience wise and helps tremendously when going for upper level stats. If you insist on not spending the money, then they can be obtained from slaying Cave Horrors, but killing those is no easy task.

God Books… don’t waste a space: With throwing knives becomming more and more popular for training range, the God Books (one for Zammorak, Saradomin, and Guthix), have become more and more useful. Training with knives uses only one hand, and leaves your shield slot available for additional purposes, and while having a shield may be nice for the defence bonuses, it more often than not will drag down your range stats in the process. That’s where the God Books come in. The added bonuses from a God Book are as such:

Zamorak: +8 to all offensive stats

Saradomin: +8 to all defensive stats

Guthix: +4 to all offensive and defensive stats.

In order to construct a God Book, you must first complete The Horror from the Deep quest, to obtain a damaged book (it’s at this point you’ll decide which of the three God Books you want). Afterwards, you must then purchase all four “pages” for your respective book, and attatch them to the damaged cover to get the completed God Book. The pages are treasure trail items, so they’re fairly expensive (Zamorak being the most expensive and Guthix the cheapest), but a plus is that if you lose the book through dying, simply speak to Jossik (you’ll know him from the quest), and he’ll magically have your book ready for you with all pages still intact!

Strung Rabbit Foot… gotta love them seeds: This is by far the simplest of the five, but I still love the effect. Requiring no quest and only a few thousand gp, this necklace increases your chance of getting a bird’s nest while woodcutting: a must-have for any avid woodcutter. It may not seem like much, but you have to put it in perspective: more nests means more chances of getting a valuable seed (yew or mage), which means more money, which means possible millions on the long road to level 99. I definitely recommend picking one up at the Grand Exchange the next time you plan to grind out a woodcutting level or two.

So there you have it. I hope this guide has helped all of you find something useful. Happy RuneScape-ing!
