The Ranged tanker

Introduction
There are two types of ranged tankers, the balanced range/defence tanker and the high ranged tanker. A high ranged strike rate combined with a high defence gives ranged tankers an advantage over mage tankers and sometimes even warriors.

Stats
The balanced tanker is suggested to have the following stats:
60+ Ranged
60+ Defence
43 Prayer

Equipment and inventory
A balanced tanker should wear the following armour:
Rune full helm
(Alternatives: Green d’hide coif, Leather coif)
Green d’hide body
(Alternatives: Rune chainbody)
Rune platelegs
(Alternatives: Rune plateskirt, Green d’hide chaps)
Green d’hide vambraces
(Alternatives: Rune Gauntlets)
Maple Bow
(Alternatives: None)
Adamant arrows (suggested amount: 1000)
(Alternatives: Mithril arrows, steel arrows, iron arrows)
Fighting boots
(Alternatives: Colourful boots, any other kind of boots)
Optional: Explorer’s Ring 3
(Alternatives: Explorer’s Ring 2, Explorer’s Ring 1)

The high ranged tanker is suggested to have the following stats:
40+ Defence (For green d’hide)
80+ Ranged
43 Prayer
With the following armour:
Green d’hide coif
(Alternatives: Leather coif, Rune full helm)
Green d’hide body
(Alternatives: Rune chainbody)
Green d’hide chaps
(Alternatives: Rune plateskirt, Rune platelegs)
Green d’hide vambraces
(Alternatives: Rune Gauntlets)
Maple Bow
(Alternatives: None)
Adamant arrows (suggested amount: 1000)
(Alternatives: Mithril arrows, steel arrows, iron arrows)
Fighting boots
(Alternatives: Colourful boots, any other kinds of boots)
Optional: Explorer’s Ring 3
(Alternatives: Explorer’s Ring 2, Explorer’s Ring 1)

Both ranged tanker types should also have the following inventory:
Twenty six (26) Swordfish/Anchovy Pizzas. NOTE: Lobsters will work as well, although they won’t heal as much.
Rune 2h.
Strength Potion.
Optional: Full melee gear.

Prayers
When fighting, both of the ranged tanker groups should attempt to use the “Hawk’s Eye” prayer when possible, for a chance of hitting higher. When attacked, ranged tankers should turn off the boost and turn on their Protection prayer.

The two different tankers
There are advantages and disadvantages for both the ranged tanker types. The balanced ranged tanker has a higher chance of not being hit, but a lower rate of damage to the opponent. The high ranged tanker has a higher chance of being hit, but also a higher damage rate to the opponent. The balanced tanker is suggested for long, drawn out battles.
