Dragon Scimitar vs Dragon Longsword for Runescape
Once again the old Dragon Scimmy vs Dragon Long battle rises! I’ll start off by comparing stat bonus, speed, consistency of hitting and finally the special attack.
In the stat bonus category the Dragon Scimitar has a +67 slash bonus and a +8 stab bonus along with a +66 strength bonus while the Dragon Longsword has +69 slash bonus and a whopping +58 stab bonus and to top it off a +71 strength bonus. In the Stats category, the Dragon Longsword takes the edge in this category by quite a few numbers.
In the speed category the Dragon Scimitar’s speed is rated 5 out of a possible 10 speed rating while the Dragon Long is rated 4 out of 10. In this category the Dragon Scimitar takes the edge as it is faster by 10%.
In the consistency area we will look at how many times the weapon takes to kill a monster versus the other weapons time taken to do so. We’ll measure this by hits on a Yak because it is not multi-combat and 50hp is enough to make an assumption between the two vicious blades. I conducted the experiment and here are the results of each hit. I killed 10 yaks with each weapon then I added up the amount of times of hits it took to kill a yak, this info I recorded by using my steady eyes and the famous Notepad. I then calculated the average using a calculator, for the average hit, the same thing but I added up all the hits then divided 50 (Yak’s HP) by the hits that the Yak took.
In Curiosity some may ask for my stats, this doesn’t matter much but with higher/lower combat the average will be higher/lower (depends on combat of course) but the Dragon Longsword should maintain a higher average even with different combat changes. I am not sure about strength pures however. My Attack was 71, Strength was 72 and Defense was 71 during this experiment while no prayer or stat increasing potions were used.
The Scimitar averages to kill a Yak in 6.7 hits with an average hit of 7.
The Longsword averages to kill a Yak in 5.4 hits with an average hit of 9.
The Dragon Long suprisingly takes the win in this category!
The special attack for the Dragon Long is far superior as many may know as it often hits high whilst the Dragon Scimmy often hits low and takes up too much Special Attack Energy.
Our final results are the Dragon Long winning in 3 out of 4 categories being superior over the Dragon Scimitar. Doing Monkey Madness for it is not worth it and the Dragon Long is proven to be the more vicious blade! In my opinion the Dragon Longsword is great if you want to go slay monsters that are high level and stuff for drops and etc. but for general training the Dragon Scimitar is definently your choice because of it’s speed and it’s similar stats to the Dragon Longsword. I hope you enjoyed my article and that you continue to view more of my, and RSHaven’s RuneScape content. Have a good one!
