Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf
This is the latest quest for runescape. The requirements to start the quest goes as shown:
- 61 Hunter
- 61 Firemaking
- 69 Strength
- Forgettable Tale of a Drunken Dwarf
- Between a rock
- Must be able to defeat a Lv. 100 combatant
To start the quest talk to Veldaban in Keldagrim and he will tell you about the abductions and how the black guard are not doing much about it and must go and uncover the abductors’ identities. In the quest you need to fight 2 chaos dwarf, get a package from the grand exchange (it’s free), use various items from the package to follow a trail, put out a fire, open a secret hatch, activate switches when riding a mine cart and then remove a machine to escape, in that order. At the end of the quest you discover the Red Axe turn the dwarfs into Chaos ones and that the one killed in the tower was Veldaban’s girlfriend. After you fight the 2nd Chaos dwarf and escape the quest is complete.
The rewards of this quest are access to the North Keldagrim mining area and the Chaos Dwarf Battlefield and 30,000 experience in strength, Hunter and Firemaking (You also receive 2 quest points).
Tips:
- When fighting the chaos dwarf hand cannoneer the hand cannon can do up to 410 damage but is extremely slow. It is recommended to use the protect from missiles prayer forcing the chaos dwarf to use a less powerful melee attack that can only hit 110 damage. Let Veldaban attack the cannoneer until he is about half health and then join the fight.
- When having to control the cart the order of colours needed to press is yellow, green, yellow, yellow, green, yellow, yellow, yellow.
- Don’t put the stones in before speaking to Veldaban because you need them to talk to him.
Noteworthy stuff:
- In the quest, if one speaks to Colonel Grenda at the Battlefield, she says “ass”, and during the cutscene where you fight the Chaos Dwarf with the hand cannon, Commander Veldaban says “I’m too valuable to walk around a damn office all day”. Which is unusual language for Jagex to use, but is not the first time a character has said these words. In the quest Monkey Madness, King Awowoge used the word “damn” and one of Zanik’s examines was once “She’s kicking HAM ass”, however both of those were later removed. However, during the quest Death Plateau, the trapped archer thanks the player by saying “Thank god” for getting the combination right and unlock the door, and this still remains in the game.
- Although 61 hunter is needed to completed the quest, if you happen to have achieved 61 firemaking before the required hunter level it says that you have achieved all the skills needed to complete the quest. This also works in some other ways; If you already had the required Firemaking level and you don’t have the required Strength level, and you reach the required Hunter level, it says that you have all skills.
- When Veldaban follows you, he will run with you making him the first NPC to run while following the player.
- The first level 1 chaos dwarf is in this quest as the chaos dwarf seen created.
