Making Easy Runescape Money By Playing the Market

As I was cutting yews last week when I was approached by a player claiming to have a secret that made him millions of Runescape gold. He was offering to sell that secret for a mere 10k gold! Like you probably are right now, I was skeptical; but, ten thousand gold isn’t all that much, so I thought I’d give it a try. Through private chat, the player disclosed the secret, which I will now let you all in on.

I’ll tell you right now, this method can take a while. But, like the title says, it’s probably the easiest gold you’ll ever make in Runescape. Anyways, as you all probably guessed, this involves the beloved Runescape Grand Exchange. However, it doesn’t involve analyzing the market values and buying massive quantities of an item as you might expect. I’ve tried that method, and it takes equally long but tends to give meager results. The method I’m here to share is even more common sense than that, which is why many people never even think about it. Here it is: buy an item at the lowest price, then sell it at the highest price!

Though you might think I’m joking, I’m actually not. The catch is that this works best with items of significant value, so you do need to build a bit of a base of gold before trying this method. An example of an item you could use for this method would be the Guthix kiteshield. The lowest price on the Grand Exchange is usually around 320k gold, and the highest price is somewhere in the roundabouts of 350k. So, basically, with this method, you’ll make 30k gold every time you turn one of these babies over. And that’s just one of the lower-priced examples. Once you do this a few times, you can move up to a more expensive item, which will make you a larger profit, which you can then use to buy a bigger item, which will give you even more money… I think you get the point.

An example of one of the common higher priced items to buy

As I mentioned, you’ll need to build up a base of gold before you begin this method of money making. There are many ways to do this — crafting, woodcutting, even selling rune essences can make lower level players quite a bit of money. To learn more about these different ways of building a solid base of money, just head over to the Runescape Money Making section of Runescape Haven.

One more thing: don’t let your impatience get the best of you. On free Runescape this will be more of a problem due to the Grand Exchange only giving you two slots. However, if you just let the GE do it’s thing, I promise you’ll be satisfied. And although you might be tempted to sell the item back at the lowest price or even regular price, just wait a little longer. There’ll always be someone willing to pay the big bucks for the item you’re trying to sell. This does take a while, and it can take months to make millions, but in the end, it’s definitely worth it.
