Runescape Banks and Bank Account Features
So what are Runescape Banks and why were they created?
Well, an inventory can only hold 28 items, but considering there are thousands of different items in Runescape it became apparent that a simple player backpack wasn’t enough because as you gain more items you take up more inventory space and as a result Jagex introduced the Runescape bank system.
In addition running out of room in your inventory it is also very risky to have all of your items in your inventory at any one time, because if you die, you will lose almost all of your items, with the exception of your 3* most valuable items. So banks are also useful in that they allow you to not have to carry around all you unneeded and valuable items all the time.
* Unless using the level 25 Prayer, Protect Items, which will save an extra item if you die or if you happen to have a skull as a result of pking in which case you will lose all your items unless you use the prayer, Protect Items.
How Can I Find a Runescape Bank?
Banks are found all around Runescape. They are most often found in populated cities and areas of Runescape. The Runescape bank map logo is a $ sign so if you spot a $ on your screen, then the building contains bank booths and bankers.
How Do I Use a Runescape Bank?
When you reach a bank, left clicking on it chooses the default option, ‘Use Bank Booth’. Choosing this option will start a conversation with one of the bankers. Talking to a banker allows you to access your bank, or set up a bank pin. We will move onto bank pins later on in the article.
Right clicking on the bank booth gives the following options – ‘Use Bank Booth’, ‘Use-quickly Bank Booth’ and ‘Examine Bank Booth’. Using the Use-quickly Bank Booth option, you will avoid the chat with the banker and jump straight to your bank.
When you have decided to view your bank, a list of items you have collected will be displayed.
While Runescape members have hundreds of bank spaces to store items, free version players have less than one hundred.
How do I Deposit and Withdraw my Runescape Items?
To deposit or withdraw an item all you have to do is click on it, it’s as simple as that. Players using the single mouse button will only be able to deposit 1 of the desired item; players using the multiple mouse option will get a series of options.
Players using the multiple mouse option should right click on the item they wish to deposit or withdraw, and then select the amount you wish to deposit or withdraw from the list.
Runescape Bank Modes
There are two different ways to arrange the items in your bank. These are either Swap or Insert. If you are using the Swap option then when you drag an item onto another, they will switch places with one another.
If you are using the Insert option then when you drag an item onto another all the other items will shift a place to the right to make space for that item.
Bank Notes
Most items in Runescape will not stack up in your inventory, take food for example. To take a bulk number of these items out, you are provided with a ‘Withdraw as Note’ option. To withdraw an item(s) as a note, click on the ‘Withdraw as Note’ button at the bottom of the bank screen and then choose the amount of the item you wish to withdraw. To withdraw an item(s) normally, simply click on the Withdraw as Item button. Items that are noted can not be used to the full potential. For Example, food cannot be eaten if it is in note format.
Runescape Bank Hack Prevention – Bank Account Pins
Jagex decided to insert Runescape Bank Pins to prevent loss of items if your account is accessed, aka hacked, by someone other than yourself. A Bank Pin should be set up on your Runescape account as soon as you begin your journey on Runescape. Nothing is worse than spending hundreds of hours of your time making millions only to have it all taken from you because someone has guessed, found out or hacked your Runescape password and then stolen everything from your bank because you didn’t secure it with a simple bank pin.
To get to the screen above, talk to a banker and select the ‘Check your PIN setting’ option. You can click on the ‘Set a PIN’ button to set a pin for the first time. If you want to change the length of your recovery delay then click on the ‘Change your recovery delay’ button.
How Can I Change or Cancel My Runescape Bank Account Pin?
Simply log on to Runescape, talk to one of the bankers. Ask them to see your Bank PIN settings. If you already have a Bank PIN then you will be asked to enter it using the onscreen keypad. When you have done so, you will be shown the Bank PIN settings menu. Here you are able to change your PIN to a new one, or delete your old one completely.
If you decide to change or delete your PIN from this menu, your PIN will change automatically. There is only a delay for those who cannot remember their existing PIN. If you have forgotten your bank pin then you will have to wait 7 days. This is to protect those who have had their Runescape account accessed by hackers who want to set up a new bank pin on your Runescape account.
Throughout the 7 days you will receive reminders before it becomes active. You can cancel you new PIN at any point before it comes into action by speaking with one of the bankers and asking them to see your PIN settings.
How Can I Set Up a Runescape Bank Account pin?
When you go to bank next time, talk to one of the Runescape bankers. Not all bankers allow you to check your PIN settings, but most of them do. Selecting to see you settings will bring up a Bank PIN menu. This will allow you to set your PIN for the first time. You are required to enter your new PIN twice to make sure you did not make a mistake.
A Bank PIN takes 7 days to become effective with your account. Within the 7 days you have the choice to cancel your PIN at any time. Just talk to a banker if you wish to cancel your PIN.
Will I have to enter my PIN every time I access my bank?
No you do not have to enter your Bank PIN every time you wish to withdraw or deposit an item. Your bank pin is only needed when you login to Runescape or lose connection.
What happens if I have forgotten or forget my PIN?
On the Bank PIN menu, click on the ‘I don’t know it’ button. This will reset your bank pin. Please between 3-7 days to access your bank, this is to prevent people who may have hacked your Runescape account and are trying to get rid of your Bank PIN to steal your items.
When I’m entering my PIN, how come the numbers switch around?
This feature was inserted to add extra security to your account. It prevents people from recording your mouse clicks and then using them to gain access to your bank.
People who use keyloggers to record your keyboard buttons will also not be able to access your bank as your use mouse clicks to enter your PIN.
Richest or Best Runescape Bank Picture
It always seems like so many people want to how rich someone else is or who has the best bank so I did a little looking around on the net to try and find the best Runescape bank account picture, and this is the one I found. With 462M and a party hat set this player is undoubtedly one of the richest people in Runescape.
