Runescape Barrows Brothers
This guide will show you all the tips and tricks, when doing Barrows Brothers. And how to make a profit off them. Please note that if you die you loose everything at Barrows, except your chosen 3 items.
Requirments
- Done Priest in Peril Quest
- Started Nature Spirit Quest (You only need to have done about 2 minutes worth)
- About 70+ Combat
- 50k+ or So in Money
- Good Armour and Weapons
- 43+ Prayer
- A Spade
Getting Started
First, go to the Grand Exchange. Now, mattering on your level, this will change how much food and how many potions you will need. If your around 70-100 combat, bring 3-6 prayer potions, and some food. But why so many prayer potions you ask. In the Barrows Tunnels, they take away about 10 prayer every minute, which is very annoying.
Food wise, monks or Sharks would do the job, depending on your budget. If you want to wait a while, you can try and get some Super Attack/Strength/Defence potions if you like.
Make sure you bring your spade!
Stratagies
There are many ways that you can try to kill the Barrows Brothers. Here are some of the many ways that you can use.
Melee
I suggest bringing either a whip, dragon scimitar or something thats fast-hitting. These guys are like vsing another level 110 or 90 player, they have high defence.
Just bring your best armour. You can always teleport away if you need to.
Super attack/strength/defence potions are good to use too, I suggest you bring them along.
Range
There is no point in using anything like a shortbow, longbow, darts, throwing knifes or anything of the sort. The holy crossbow is the way to go. Your choice of bolts, it dosen’t matter too much.
For armour, just bring something like full black d’hide.
You can also bring a super Range potion, if you want.
Mage
Magic is quite popular at Barrows too. Most people will either use some high level Anchient Magic, or use the Iban Staff.
For armour, you could either bring something that defends you quite well, or if your high level, whatever gives you the highest magic bonus. Your choice.
Hybrid
This method was given to me by Hepperfitz. This method includes Magic, ranged and melee in the one weapon, the black salamander. You need harralander tar, which costs 206gp. You can use all three types of combat in the one weapon. It hits fairly hard and accurate. However, it does require 70+ in Strength, Magic and Range.
Getting There
Getting to the Barrows Brothers isn’t excactly a piece of cake. You will need to travel a long way. Here’s a map from Canfis to the Brothers.

If you have done in search of the Myreque Quest, Ghosts Ahoy Quest and Desert Treasure Quest, then you can use the shortcuts, as shown in red.
Otherwise, you will have to go the long way (Yellow Path)
Badies Along The Way
Of course, getting to the Barrows Brothers wasen’t going to be a walk in the park. When you enter the swamp, the ghasts will attack you, but not in that way. They will rot some of your food.
So, make sure you run from the start of the swamp, to when you get to a Yellowish path. If your traveling by the red path, you will be fine, and don’t have to worry.
Arrival
Once you have arrived at the Barrows Brothers, go to the little house outside the graves. It has a guide on the Barrows. You can read that if you need some help.

To get into a grave, simply dig on top of one of the hills.
Kill ‘em
Now, time to kill them. Go on top of one of the 6 hills. Dig on the hill. Once inside a grave, look inside the tomb. Either one of the Brothers will Appear, or it will say you have found the secret tunnel. I will tell you about the secret tunnel soon.
If you have found the secret tunnel, go out of the grave, and dig at another hill.
Now you should be fighting your Brother. Once he is killed, you will get a killcount, which gives you a better chance at a good reward.
Killing Dharok

Dharok is the most feared of the brothers. As most people know, the lower hp someone has in Dharok armour, the higher they will hit. This is excactly the same for the brother, so make sure you always have your Protect From Melee prayer on.
Killing Karil

Karil is strong too. It may only hit a maximum of about 25, but it’s constant, so watch out. Always keep your protect from range prayer on!
Killing Torag

Torag is considered the weakest of all brothers. He dosen’t hit very high, thats if he hits. The problem is his defence. He has the most defence for a brother, so he does take a while to kill.
Killing Verac

Verac is quite annoying. You will find he hits through prayer, making him quite a difficult task. Although protect from melee does minimise his max hit down to about 11.
Killing Guthan

Guthan is another brother to look out for. You must always keep your prayer on, since guthan can heal some of the hp it hits, making it quite hard to kill.
Killing Ahrim

Although he is the weakest, make sure you use prayer on him. He will lower your combat stats, making it hard to kill the next brother.
The Secret Tunnel
Once you have killed 5 of the 6 brothers, go to the Tomb that had the Secret Tunnel. Go in. It will be dark, and you cant see your map. So you have to click on the screen to walk.
You will appear at one of the ladder rooms. The ladder will only be in one of the rooms, and is different every time. Work your way through the tunnel.
A Barrow Brother may appear when you open a door. Fight it, and then keep going. Make your way to the center.
When you are at the center door, leading to the chest, it will say a puzzle. You must answer correctly. But, because of all the mosters, they will attack you, so you make only see it for 2 seconds. Just have a wild guess.
If you get it wrong, you must find your way to another door to the chest room.
The Chest Room
Once in the chest room, click on the chest. A Brother should appear. If it dosen’t, don’t worry. If it does appear, just kill it. Then open the chest for your reward.
To Get A Good Reward
To actually get a good reward, you need to kill all 6 of the Brothers. If you don’t you will only get money.
The Rewards
- Up to 5k in Cash
- Death runes
- Blood Runes
- Mind runes
- Barrows Items
Luck of the Draw
If you got only like 5k from a round, don’t be dissapointed. Its all about chance. You were unlucky that time.
