Runescape Clan Wars

Since the beginning of Runescape, for many players clans have been a critical dynamic in their daily Runescape life. Now you might be asking, what is a Runescape clan? A Runescape clan is a dedicated group of Runescape players looking to get more out of their Runescape experience by creating tight nit groups that add new dynamics to the game by hosting drop parties, competitions within the group, pking trips and clan wars. These are just some of the things that clans offer. This guide will talk about Runescape Clans Wars amongst clans. Visit the other guides for more information on clans.

Runescape Clan Wars

Your Next Question might be, what is a Runescape Clan War? Well a clan war is a head to head battle between two or more clans. The battle can be held for a few different reason which might be the right for the title ‘superior clan’ or just for some fun. Before wars begin, clans must choose a cape colour or if they wish the clan can wear no capes. The clan colour choice must be different from the adversaries for the obvious reasons of avoiding confusion between team mates and the enemy. When in combat it is seen as bad form to put on the other clans cape colour to try and trick the opponent, it not only gives the player a bad reputation but also the player’s clan.

Runescape Clan Wars in the Wilderness

The location of a clan war has a big factor on how the war will prevail, normally they take place where there are few disturbances, also in reasonably high wilderness level to account for the combat level differences as it is an all in war and levels between clan members can vary a lot. The war normally takes place in a multi combat zone for the purpose of ganging up on individual adversaries, picking them off one by one. If a war was not battled in a multi combat zone, it would drag on for awhile and then there would be almost no strategies displayed making it a survival of the fittest. Some good multi combat locations might be the chaos alter as, players can recharge prayer, but it is not a very high wilderness level. Another good multi combat area is the demonic runes (greater demons) this is a good area as there is a lot of space an it is located in a very high wilderness level.

Clan War Strategies

A clan war is not only about how strong your team is, but it is also heavily weighted on the strategies you use. Good strategies cin tightly fought contests can help give you that extra edge that secures you clan victory. So if you do not have any strategies before going into a war, you should expect a disasterour war. As the old saying goes “prior perpartion prevents poor performance.”

A common, but effective, strategy is to set aside rangers and mages and bring them in 20 - 30 seconds after the war has started. This is base upon the assumption that the majority of people attending clan wars come as warrioors. Mages in this situation as mages, when shooting from a distance can deal a lot of damage to warriors whom are already pre occupied with the fights proceeding in front of them. Warriors are weak against mages due to their low magic resistance. Mages can also bind enemies from running, giving other team mates a chance to finish them off. It is critical that if you are bringing groups of rangers and mages that you have leaders of these groups isolating their most effective targets, for example having a leader of the rangers calling a target enemy’s name, with the ideal target being a mage and having a leader of the mages calling a target enemy’s name of a melee fighter.

When entering into a battle, it is recommended that you start in a different world, although still at the arranged location and use a d-dot (death dot) formation or follow an allocated person. This is so the team is in formation and close proximity to each other, not spread out everywhere in not particular order. The d-dot is where everyone stands on the same spot. This is to catch the opposing team off guard as on the map you will look like a single person just logging in as well as make it difficult for the enemy to identify key targets amoungst the large group.

To get an advantage, it will help to have a group of 5-7 rangers to take out the opponent’s mages, as mage is weak to range attacks. This will also help to prevent the mages doing damage to your own warrior teammates. It will also help to get a group of 5-7 warriors to attack the opponent’s rangers and stop them from doing any damage to your own mages, this would be recommended as rangers are weak to melee attacks. In addition to that, all members of the clan should wear their best armour and bring their best food to give them the best chance of survival.

Clan Competitions

Clan competitions are good ways for raising money for the more flat broke players and also increasing the clans combat levels and stats before the upcoming clan war. The competition works like this, clan members will train their hitpoints anyway they wish, hitpoints is the more preferred stat because this way the competition can include rangers and mages along with warriors. The competition will run for an allocate time and can last as long as wished, but it would be recommended to last longer than 2 weeks, to give sufficient time to all clan members to have a chance to participate and accumulate hitpoints. The reward for the competition should be produced by a leader, wealthy member or a member who would like to donate money. Enough money should be produced so that there is enough for at least three places (1st, 2nd, 3rd) this could range from anything greater than 300K. After the money has been raised, its time to get a list of competitors, you should to have enough competitors to make it fun which is anything over 10 – 15. Once all of these things are in order you are ready to start a clan competition. I hope this guide has help aid you in your clan wars, good luck.
