Runescape F2P Woodcutting Guide
In Runescape woodcutting is one of the most popular skills in runescape, mainly because it is so profitable even if you are not a member! Woodcutting is great for making a ton of money whilst not having spend hours and hours a day on the game.
First of all there are many types of axes you can use to cut trees, with bronze being the worst and dragon (members only) being the best, here are the axes in oder of level needed to use them:
Bronze axe - level 1
Iron axe - level 1
Steel axe - level 5
Black axe - level 10
Mithril axe - level 21
Adamant axe - level 31
Rune axe - level 41
Dragon axe (members only) - level 61
Once you have the right axe for your level, it’s time to start woodcutting.
Woodcutting Level 1-15:
Start out with the best axe you can use and head over to Varrock East bank, head east out of Varrock and strait away you should see lots of normal ‘trees’.
When you have a full inventory of logs, run to varrock bank and repeat the process. It shouldn’t take long before you get 15 woodcutting. Read on to find out more.
Woodcutting Levels 15-35:
When you have 15 Woodcutting, if you havn’t done so already, imediately switch axes and start using a Black axe. This will make you cut logs faster, thereofre spend less time getting levels.
Now you can start cutting oak logs. Stay at the same place in varrock and there should be some oak trees amongst the normal trees. Cut these and bank them until level 35.
Woodcutting Level 35-70:
Now is the biggest leap of all, at this point you will be able to cut willow logs effectively, so head to Draynor bank and a little south of the bank there should be 5 willow trees very close. This is arguably the best place in F2P for woodcutting because it is extremely close to a bank, although if you are a low combat level, be aware of the dark wizards that are around the willow trees.
Cut a full inventory of logs and, yes you guessed it, bank them! you will need to cut around 3.5k logs until you reach level 70, this may sound like alot but it can be easily reached in a couple of days spending a few hours a day on your computer.
Woodcutting Level 70-99:
If you have made it to this stage, well done! It’s time to start raking in the money. You’re now going to start cutting Yew Trees, no there is two possible spots to cut these, one i at the back of varrock castle. Although this is very close to The Grand Exchange bank, it tends to be very overcrowded and could take some time to get some logs, OR you could go to edgeville bank and run south into a small area surrounded by crumbling walls, this area has two Yew Trees and is also close to edgeville bank, but it’s normal not as crowded as the trees in Varrock.
Now, this is the good part. To get from level 70 to level 99, you will need to cut around 70,000 yew logs! Yes, it will take a while but it’ll be worth it in the end because yew logs sell for 400-500gp each! meaning that 70,000 x 500 = 35,000,000gp! thats alot of money!
But remember to take a break every now and then because too much woodcutting will get very boring, but remember to stay on track and think of all that money!
Once you have 99 woodcutting, congratulations you are a master woodcutter and can go a claim your Woodcutting Skill Cape and show off to your friends!
