RuneScape VS World Of Warcraft
RuneScape started off with plain graphics, without much detail, but that didn’t seem to bother many RuneScape players because graphics aren’t everything in the game, it’s all about the game play. RuneScape offers a huge world full of various monsters, large cities, different skills, quests, with thousands of players from all around the world. This game gives us a chance to interact with people from Canada, the UK, Australia, US, Mexico, and much more. You can train skills such as Magic, Construction, Herblore, or do quests. If not, then you can sit around chatting with your friends in Varrock Center and play around with the emotes. No matter what, there’s always something to do in RuneScape.
Many people would compare RuneScape with World of Warcraft. They would argue that World of Warcraft is better than RuneScape because of the graphics. World of Warcraft is a similar game as RuneScape but overall more complicated than RuneScape. It has millions of players from around the world, just like RuneScape. Here I will explain differences in both games and let you decide which game is better.
World of Warcraft (WoW) was created by Blizzard Entertainment. When you first take a look at the game it looks really exciting. The graphics are what brings you into the game. The thing is for World of Warcraft when you first sign up you get too choose which realm. The realm you choose is the one you have to stick with. Unlike WoW, RuneScape lets you switch between realms, or as known in RS, worlds. There isn’t a limit on how many times you can switch around. For WoW you have to pay an extra 15 dollars just to switch.
After choosing your realm in WoW you can choose which race you would like to be. There is Alliance and Horde, both offering five different races. If you choose Alliance your enemy is Horde, and its the same the other way around. You cannot interact with your enemy either. So if you have a friend on the Horde and your Alliance, you can’t communicate with them. Its the same thing if your not on the same realm as your friend.
In RuneScape however your not allowed to choose a race. When you begin your a human. Each character has the same journey, were as in WoW each race has a different journey, but its basically all the same thing. In WoW you have to choose a ‘path’. You’ll either be a Hunter, Rouge, Mage, Warrior, etc. You have to stick with it, and its your main way of attack. For example if your a Hunter you only get certain spells, certain armor, certain weapons, and are allowed to have a pet to help you in battles. Same goes for every other choice there is, but each is different.
Here is were RuneScape and WoW differ. In RuneScape you get loads of skills. You can train magic, or switch to range, or go to thieving. Were as in WoW if you are a Rouge, you cannot train magic. In RuneScape you can go fishing, mine coal, do some herblore, etc. In WoW you can only choose two careers such as fishing or cooking, and then do other things like skinning, or herblore etc. You cannot train every skill there is in WoW. You also have to pay your “teacher” in WoW just to get better in some skills.
Another difference is in RuneScape if you want to get a higher combat level you just train with monsters doing attack, strength, and defense. Were as in WoW you get very low XP just by killing monsters, so your forced to do quests. Yes there are more quests in WoW than in RuneScape, but that’s the only thing WoW is really about. You have to do quests to get some where in the game, were as in RuneScape if you hate questing you can just be a skiller.
Many people would go wrong to tell you WoW is better than RuneScape because they are both different games and offer different things. Yes the graphics are better than in RuneScape, but personally I prefer RuneScape over WoW because I feel there is more to do in RuneScape. WoW may seem fun in the beginning but then you get bored of it. The game doesn’t actually start until your lvl 70 in WoW which takes forever to get there.
I have to admit though, since the RuneScape HD update, I haven’t felt drawn to the game. The graphics aren’t what are important to me in a game, were as people who play WoW would say the graphics are everything. Jagex the creators of RuneScape are sitting there trying to make the game better, but at each update they only seem to disappoint. Players loved RuneScape because it was fun. It was fun to kill other players in the wild, it was fun to ‘merch’ items, and yes it was fun sometimes to scam other players. I miss those ‘cheesy’ graphics because that’s how I remember RuneScape. You would understand if you’ve been playing as long as I have. The only thing Jagex is doing is making the game boring like WoW. But that’s just my opinion. Many of you would disagree.
So tell me, would you prefer WoW over RS?

Interesting article. I’ve never played WOW, but I do remember my 2 weeks of trying out Everquest which resulted in terrible connections as well as just utter cluelessness as to what to do, why I couldn’t go certain places, etc. The tutorial in RS at least gives players a basic starting point of information to go on.
You also can’t really beat the cost of RS at $5/month. It packs a lot of bang for the buck.

I very much aggree with you. There is much more to do in Runescape than WoW. I don’t play WoW, but my friend does. It’s true, at first it looks AWESOME!!!! But then you look at the price… Almost $30 right off the bat. Then, after a possible free month, you have to pay $15 every month. I preffer RS mostly because of all that you can do, but I also like that you can either pay or not pay. I am a free-to-play player in rs, because I have alot to do besides RS and it wouldn’t be worth it. But it still serves it’s pourpose (purpose? pourpes?).
