Skype Used to Hack Runescape Accounts
I just read an article that highlighted the dangers to having your Runescape account hacked via the use of instant messenger services and VOIP services like Skype. The articles suggests that during Septmeber there was an increased prevelance in the use of a worm that was spread via users’ Skype contact lists that installed a keylogger onto unsuspecting users compters which allowed the source of the keylogger the ability hack Runescape accounts:
A variant of the Bubbles Worm spread through Skype contacts in mid-September, targeting teenagers that play Runescape with a keylogger to track everything a user does on the PC.
After I read this article I thought it was appropriate for me to write a post about the potential dangers that you expose your Runescape account to if you use IM or VOIP services, particularly if have a lot of users on your contact lists that you don’t know well. So just make sure that when you are using such services that you do know who you are talking to and that you have you virus protection on and if you do accept and files that you scan them first before you install them to make sure they aren’t malicious.
It is also prudent to note that 80% of all hacked Runescape accounts were hacked by someone that the account owner knew. So don’t just trust people because you think they are your friends, especially if you don’t know them in person.

i recently had a level 65 hacked.
he had 15k and full black his user name is malvin 55 ,i was wondering if you could try to get him back or do somthing like make a another man or i dont know something to get a man for me pleas do somthing.

im a lvl 56 non-member im not the very rich but i do make money easy and quick
mine gold and sell in gx or cut yews and sell in gx or fish if ur low on fishing lvl then start fishing cos it a good way to make money quick and easy if u get ur fishing to lvl 50 at lest fish for swordies oh and get ur cooking up to cook swordies and lobbies its proberly the best way to make money easy.

I HIGHLY doubt you have 2 sets of all Barrows, 4 Whips, 20 White Phats, a Bandos Godsword (which you can’t even spell right), PLUS 50 BILLION GP in the bank… If you kindly show me all of the stuff you “claim” to have, I’ll be happy to apologize for doubting you and take back what I said. ok… first of all… i can see why most of you idgets got hacked in the first place… you cant keep your mouths shut - dont give your runescape id out dimwhits… especially on these sites, it gives you a big red target on your back (figuratively) and honestly no-one cares who, what level, what it had on it, and how it got hacked. if it got hacked in the first place:
1. get a better virus blocker (best i know to be is firefox, its free - made by hackers, for hackers, to keep hackers out)
2. dont spill your life on the internet… as a hacker i find most of the easiest subjects telling their life story and using their birthday or something as their password… it becomes easy for passwordpreditors to find what you use as your password.
3. change your password often… if you leave it as the same thing, eventually someome desperate enough will find out what it is. change it at least once a month.
4. make your passwords easy to remember but hard to guess… something like… your brothers name and your favorite number… or the date of your current girlfriends birthday and her name (it wont let your forget what they are… the name or the birthday
5. hackbacks arent a good idea… if a hacker was able to hack you in the first place and you get someone to hackback your account… that makes the hacker mad to the X-Treams…. especially if you left a little package for him to find out like a whisper ring or something… dont do it… move on - even if it was a lvl 126-138 - get over it… if you were smart enough to get to that level in the first place then why werent you smart enough to keep your passwords hidden?

im a level 96 atm, 1993 alpha. been playing 2 yrs. just want to say it is usually your fault if you get hacked as you should have anti spyware, firewall ect. installed on your computer and on top of that you should scan your computer thoughrully once every now and then, you never know what goodies you fine
ohh and if u wana know how to make money and have fun at the same time…. yes have FUN at the same time. Then i suggest getting ranged up, doesnt really matter how fast or w/e just that it is level 70 + and you need level 43 prayer or 42, with those stats you can make millions… nae…. billions but you might need a certain degree of patience, you can kill drags with ease and level 720 bosses will fall to the ground if u have the nerve and dont like click prayer protect mage when he does a range…. and mage wehn he does range… then…]40[…..]40[…… 1!!!! dead….

Look its horrible being hacked even if you are a low level , poor and a noob its the feeling of someone taking somethings that belong to you.
But its simple keeping ur account safe, get a bank pin, recovery question, don’t have shit anti spyware and only get a trusted one. Get a recovery question, don’t use an easy guess pass, don’t tell anyone it and make sure its rememberable. Even if you forget it you fprget it you can use the recovery question thing. And most importantly change your password.

If you want to avouid being hacked, do the following:
hamean 7 Says:1. DONT GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD
If you do, then you probably deserve to be hacked.
2. Use a decent password. Zeke_isa_piRate123! is fairly easy to remember, but ****n impossible to hack.
3. Don’t download stuff that you don’t know.
I suggest only using open-source stuff off the web, because you can check the code yourself.

Even with no keyloggers, to virus etc using IM programs is risky while playing RuneScape. A good friend of mine was chatting on an IM program while trying to log into the game. She absentmindedly typed her RuneScape character name and password into her IM chat window and hit ‘enter’ before she realized her mistake. Before she could open the game login window, the person she was chatting with had logged on to her RuneScape account! Needless to say, she lost a lot of items and ended up with a couple of ‘black marks’ that she hadn’t had before.

Why are so many people wondering how to hack runescape accounts easy just go play Runescape instead of working out how to hack runescape accounts for free - you’ll have so much more fun in the meantime as well, not to mention reduce the chances of your own runescape account being hacked.

Runescape hacking is just so a major problem with this game now. I hope Jagex can do something to fix it. Hacking Runescape accounts has become so a popular past time for many runescape players, for many I get the impression hacking runescape accounts is more enjoyable than playing the game itself.
That said I don’t know if there is any level of major organised runescape hacking going on that use runescape hacking programs but it’s concerning non the less.

ok, hacking is one thing, your account being scammed is another. hacking: someone sending a keylogger etc etc and ‘hacking’ your account, scamming is someone getting your password in a chat, hacking is NOT someone getting your password because you’re stupid, you’ll know if you got hacked if you have no idea how it happened. (btw, the scamming part happened to me years ago, I know the difference)
