Successful Runescape F2P Range 2h Pure Pker Guide
You go for pking and find a combat lvl 65 roaming around with leather armour and you attack him! Woosh!! He removes his bow and a 2h! and !!!ZHHHAPAKKKKK!!!..You find yourself in lumbridge. You are DEAD?.
You rally and gain information. He was a range pure. Today I will explain you how to become one of those.
Range pures are the most deceiving pures. They maintain a low combat level with high ranged lvls and strength lvls, they can fire arrows quite rapidly and you see your health getting low even without knowing who was attacking you,and by the time you come to know about him you are already half life down.Combining the speed of range with the power of a 2H makes for deadly hits. Your opponent barely has time to react after hitting them with a (13) on your bow and following up with (22) from a smack of your 2H.
Thus in my opinion Range 2h pures work totally well.
Overview
In general, There are 2 ways of ranging - Rapid and Accurate. Accurate style-Hits +1,but slow and less arrows are destroyed. but as we have to train fast we wont be picking up any arrows is not recommended. Thus we will be using rapid style which hits faster so we get exp also faster.
Starting Out
So, to start off create an account with a random-noob like name so that people don’t come to know that you are a range pure. Good names: Jk123 , Newbie007, Noob2010, 1123Pk1123 etc. Bad Names: Pure Ranger10 , Ranger2010 ,XxPurePkerxX etc.
Complete the tutorial, set security questions and head off to Stronghold Of Security and Player Safety. Complete both the strongholds and get 20k with 2 lamps. Use the 2 lamps on range ,with lvl 1 range u will advance directly to lvl 9 range.
Item Requirements
Head off to G.E and the following items as listed below:
Amulet of Power (Through out the career)
Cowl (lvl 1~19)
Coif (lvl 20 onwards)
Leather Vambraces (lvl 1~39)
Green d’hide vambraces (lvl 40 onwards)
Leather Body (Through out the career)
Leather Chaps (lvl 1~19)
Studded Chaps (lvl 20~39)
Green d’hide chaps (lvl 40 onwards)
Any Colored Cape (through out your career)
Fancy Boots or Fighting Boots or Leather Boots (Throughout Career)
Oak Short bow (till lvl 19)
Willow short bow (till lvl 29)
maple short bow (lvl 30 onwards)iron full helm(Always when training str)
iron platebody
iron kite shield
All this should cost about 8-10k. So with the rest 10k you need to buy ARROWS. You can buy approximately 1.5k bronze arrows with it, which is enough for the start.
Range Training
Now We come to training. First we will train range.
Safe Spot #2
Safe Spot #3
Strength & Attack Training
But What about the 2h in your bag? Now we come to Strength and attack training..
Equipment: Iron Full Helm, Iron Platebody, Green D’Hide Chaps, Iron kiteshield, green vambraces, Strength or Power amulet Trout/Salmon/Tuna
So Now you can start pking..You can do it at any level but 60+range and 60+strength is recommended.
The Range 2h Combo
One of the key elements of PKing is timing. Timing. Is. EVERYTHING! It does you no good if you can get your opponent down to low HP but can’t land your 2H in time to finish them off. You have to equip your 2H right when you release your arrow, so that your next attack will be from the 2H and you can see 2 attack damages on your opponent. Once you are comfortable with equipping your 2H the second your bow releases the arrow, you can try to tackle the delayed/quick release. The delayed/quick release happens when you allow your bow to go down to your side, and then pulling out your 2H at the last second so that you attack with the 2H instead of shooting another arrow. The best way to practice these two methods is while training, just practice timing the wielding of your 2H and attacking the monster you’re training on. Eventually the timing will become second nature to you, and you’ll just know instinctively when to whip out your 2H.
I am sure you know what to take to pking and what to wear. Still once to summarise them here the list:
Food - Tuna/Lobsters/Swordfish
2H Sword - Iron/Steel/Mith/Adamant/Rune
Shortbow - Willow/Maple
Arrows - Mithril/Adamant
Head Armour - Leather Cowl/Coif/Iron Full Helm
Body Armour - Leather Body/Iron Chain/Iron Platebody
Leg Armour - Studded Chaps/Green D’Hide Chaps
Gloves - Leather Vambraces/Green D’Hide Vambraces
Strength Potion

yo ive got a range/mele pure also its best to be range based meaning you have the highest range level for your combat level and also follo up with strength atm iam 62 range 56 strength 40 attack, you can get up to 64 range at my combat or level 1 strength level so its always best to use a combat calculater to make sure your levels are correct otherwise you will have 60 str 60 range and fightiing people 70 ranged.
