Successful Runescape F2P Range 2h Pure Pker Guide

You go for pking and find a combat lvl 65 roaming around with leather armour and you attack him! Woosh!! He removes his bow and a 2h! and !!!ZHHHAPAKKKKK!!!..You find yourself in lumbridge. You are DEAD?.

You rally and gain information. He was a range pure. Today I will explain you how to become one of those.

Range pures are the most deceiving pures. They maintain a low combat level with high ranged lvls and strength lvls, they can fire arrows quite rapidly and you see your health getting low even without knowing who was attacking you,and by the time you come to know about him you are already half life down.Combining the speed of range with the power of a 2H makes for deadly hits. Your opponent barely has time to react after hitting them with a (13) on your bow and following up with (22) from a smack of your 2H.
Thus in my opinion Range 2h pures work totally well.

Overview

In general, There are 2 ways of ranging - Rapid and Accurate. Accurate style-Hits +1,but slow and less arrows are destroyed. but as we have to train fast we wont be picking up any arrows is not recommended. Thus we will be using rapid style which hits faster so we get exp also faster.

Starting Out

So, to start off create an account with a random-noob like name so that people don’t come to know that you are a range pure. Good names: Jk123 , Newbie007, Noob2010, 1123Pk1123 etc. Bad Names: Pure Ranger10 , Ranger2010 ,XxPurePkerxX etc.

Complete the tutorial, set security questions and head off to Stronghold Of Security and Player Safety. Complete both the strongholds and get 20k with 2 lamps. Use the 2 lamps on range ,with lvl 1 range u will advance directly to lvl 9 range.

Item Requirements

Head off to G.E and the following items as listed below:

Amulet of Power (Through out the career)
Cowl (lvl 1~19)
Coif (lvl 20 onwards)
Leather Vambraces (lvl 1~39)
Green d’hide vambraces (lvl 40 onwards)
Leather Body (Through out the career)
Leather Chaps (lvl 1~19)
Studded Chaps (lvl 20~39)
Green d’hide chaps (lvl 40 onwards)
Any Colored Cape (through out your career)
Fancy Boots or Fighting Boots or Leather Boots (Throughout Career)
Oak Short bow (till lvl 19)
Willow short bow (till lvl 29)
maple short bow (lvl 30 onwards)

iron full helm(Always when training str)
iron platebody
iron kite shield

All this should cost about 8-10k. So with the rest 10k you need to buy ARROWS. You can buy approximately 1.5k bronze arrows with it, which is enough for the start.

Range Training

Now We come to training. First we will train range.

  • Levels 1~9: Already achieved because of the lamps
  • Levels 10~20: Move to the crafting guild at South-East of Falador. After you have done so, head on over even west to the crafting guild and you will find some cows.Do not open the fence as we dont need arrows, hide behind the fence and fire away at the cows. This is to prevent you from getting hit. Note there will be some dairy cows so don’t mix regular cows up with dairy cows!.You can use them as blockades also.It will take you approximately 100 cow s to reach level 20.As you do not have any other source of money i would recommend you to pick up the bones and hides and kepp banking them.
  • Levels 21~30: Sell all the cowhides and bones and buy more arrows if over. Now head on to some average populated world and go to barbarian village.Stand near the river and you will see people shouting “Free Cooked Food Here”….Offer Them trade and Get the fishes and move on to lvl 1 of Stronghold and move on to minotaurs( move south after entering SOS and take the 2nd left door). They are lvl 12 and Drop a fair amount of iron arrows which we will be picking up. It will take you around 150 minotaurs to reach lvl 30.
  • Levels 31~60: Flesh Crawlers!!Yes..this is your new home now..Crawlers have a max hit of one; 100xp gained with each kill and they’re aggressive…what else does one need. They can be found at Security Stronghold (second level).Btw you can train on barbarians as well.Going to Hill Giants is also a good option to train prayer as well because they give descent drops.
  • Level 60~99: You can now choose which monster you want to train on. Lesser Demons are the best monsters to train high lvl f2p range.. Not only do they provide you with a substantial amount of experience points, they can drop Rune Med Helms and 30 or 60 Fire runes. They drop Fire runes often, so you can expect to rake in a high amount of Fire runes with each trip. There are also three safe spots to use to fight the demons:(I took the images from my friend as he already had them. Thanks to I God O Pk I)Safe Spot #1
    Safe Spot #1Safe Spot #2
    Safe Spot #2Safe Spot #3
    Safe Spot #3
  • So now you can get to 99 range or start pking when ever you want buy 60+ is recommended.

    Strength & Attack Training

But What about the 2h in your bag? Now we come to Strength and attack training..

Equipment: Iron Full Helm, Iron Platebody, Green D’Hide Chaps, Iron kiteshield, green vambraces, Strength or Power amulet Trout/Salmon/Tuna

  • Level 1~8(Attack): There is a small training house located in front of Varrock west bank.Take a sword and go in that house and keep clicking on the dummies. You will gain Attack exp very fast till level 8.(can be reached level 9 by using a jug of wine..)
  • Level 8~22(Attack): Now go on and complete “Vampire Slayer Quest”(defeating the vampire is easy with your ranged level). The reward experience will get you to an Attack level of 22.
  • Level 1~10(Strength): Cow’s would be perfect.West of crafting guild would be the best spot as it is less crowded. You can train on cows until 15 also.
  • Level 10~30(Strength) and Level 22~30(Attack): Monks are the best NPC’s favoured by low levels to kill as they don’t hit high , have high hit points and heal you also.
  • Level 30~40(Attack and Strength): I don’t need to explain this again.Flesh Crawlers are your guys. Now you have maxed you attack level for pking so we don’t need it anymore. So now only strength.
  • Level 40~99: Flesh crawlers are the best place for you.You can try out zombies and skeletons also.
  • So Now you can start pking..You can do it at any level but 60+range and 60+strength is recommended.

    The Range 2h Combo

One of the key elements of PKing is timing. Timing. Is. EVERYTHING! It does you no good if you can get your opponent down to low HP but can’t land your 2H in time to finish them off. You have to equip your 2H right when you release your arrow, so that your next attack will be from the 2H and you can see 2 attack damages on your opponent. Once you are comfortable with equipping your 2H the second your bow releases the arrow, you can try to tackle the delayed/quick release. The delayed/quick release happens when you allow your bow to go down to your side, and then pulling out your 2H at the last second so that you attack with the 2H instead of shooting another arrow. The best way to practice these two methods is while training, just practice timing the wielding of your 2H and attacking the monster you’re training on. Eventually the timing will become second nature to you, and you’ll just know instinctively when to whip out your 2H.

I am sure you know what to take to pking and what to wear. Still once to summarise them here the list:

    Food - Tuna/Lobsters/Swordfish

    2H Sword - Iron/Steel/Mith/Adamant/Rune

    Shortbow - Willow/Maple

    Arrows - Mithril/Adamant

Head Armour - Leather Cowl/Coif/Iron Full Helm

    Body Armour - Leather Body/Iron Chain/Iron Platebody

    Leg Armour - Studded Chaps/Green D’Hide Chaps

    Gloves - Leather Vambraces/Green D’Hide Vambraces

    Strength Potion

yo ive got a range/mele pure also its best to be range based meaning you have the highest range level for your combat level and also follo up with strength atm iam 62 range 56 strength 40 attack, you can get up to 64 range at my combat or level 1 strength level so its always best to use a combat calculater to make sure your levels are correct otherwise you will have 60 str 60 range and fightiing people 70 ranged.
