Tips on How to Make a Successful Runescape Clan
“Join agent 22135″ I’m sure we all have heard of that before, it seems that almost everyone has a clan and you wounder how they can recruit enough people if everyone has their own clan. But the reality most of those clan don’t last a week even if they say this clan is going to last forever. There are two reasons for this:
- The immature owner of the clan starts up a clan but then ether doesn’t play runescape enough or doesn’t do anything with the clan.
- The players who join the clan don’t bother to start up clan chat or do any clan activities. This too can be of fault by the owner. Now you know how many clans fail, How can we prevent this?
To Runescape Clan owners:
So you set up a clan, get a few members and set some rules. When recruiting members for your clan; don’t ask random people or call out ‘Join (your username)’ these tactics ofter attract the kind of people who join a clan and quickly loses interest in the clan. I find the best way is to advertise your clan is on a runescape site especially forums (e.g rs boards, runescape clans wiki or the official runescape forums). Next comes the activities and a few things to keep in mind:
- Play runescape often, always join clan chat when you log on,
- Keep the clan busy by having regular events,
- Let the clan have a say on some things and reward those who stick with your clan.
- Ask people to help out, don’t try to do it all yourself.
After a while and you got some permanent members there is a good chance your clan will last.
To Runescape Clan members:
The key to a successful clan is though it’s faithful members and here are some tips on how to be one of them:
- Join clan chat every time you log in so it becomes a habit.
- Do some clan activities even when you don’t feel like it and aid the clan when possible.
- Try and offer your help to the clan leadership group - it can be difficult running a clan and help is often appreciated.
There are many clan types too and some require special rules and methods. Here are some possible types of clans:
- General clan: These clans don’t stick to one thing and chat a lot and do a clan event when there are quite a few member currently online.
- Warring: These clan basically hang around clan wars and challenge other clans. They may hire temporary clan members for just that session or based on permanent members (Although rare) or a bit of both.
- Merrchanting: These clans spend all their money for buying a single item at the G.E causing a sudden prise rise and reselling the items to the new high prise too make a large amount of profit. However it is possible that players are scammed by the leader and higher ranked members by selling the items before the others thus make the better profit.
- Player owned cities (POC): These clans claim cities or regions and run it usually via role-playing. These clans can own it on a PVP world and kill other clans or players in their claimed area or just claim it and challenge other via clan wars or just run the town and let others do what they want.
- God supporters: These clan support a specific runescape god (Guthix, Zamorak) and usually fight anyone who is against their god.
- Skilling: These clans are mode of people who like that certain skill the clan is based on and the clan will talk about details and tip about that skilll and also the clan will train together.
- Questing: The clan is designed to do a certain quest together and help each other out.
I am currently a member of the clan Kaiser Blade owned by Sjblade and the clan has been successful for over a year. I recommend joining this clan. For more information on this clan go to this webpage: http://runescapeclans.wikia.com/wiki/Clan:Kaiser_Blade
